Stand der Dinge im Juli 2013:

State of things in July 2013:

Erstmal geht's mit dem Auto von Calgary aus nach Norden. Yukon und Alaska stehen auf meinen Wunsch hin auf der Liste. Von dort aus wollen wir mit der Fähre nach Vancouver Island fahren und dort auf die Fahrräder umsteigen... Die Westküste der USA hat Dave bereits vor einigen Jahren per Anhalter gemacht und freut sich auch jetzt schon sehr auf die schönen Strände. Mexiko und alles Weitere sind bis jetzt nur grobe Ideen in ferner Zukunft, mal sehen. Wir sind uns allerdings einig, dass wir entlang des Pazifiks reisen und möglichst weit nach Süden kommen wollen.

Wir sind gespannt, wie die Route tatsächlich aussehen wird und werden euch mit Detailkarten auf dem Laufenden halten...

The plan is to drive our car from Calgary to Dawson City (Yukon Territory) where we try to sell the good old lady and change to our bikes. The Yukon and Alaska were on my bucket list so Dave agreed to add the little detour to our trip. We're going to ride to Anchorage (Alaska) and take a ferry from there to Port Hardy (Vancouver Island). From then on everything is rather a dream of the future than a detailed plan, but we'd like to follow the pacific coast as far south as possible and hopefully make it to Ushuaia (Patagonia) some time...
